Sunday Fash Flair: Early Spring

Dress: vintage | Belt: old | Shoes: Fioni (similar) | Bracelet: Pearls (DIY)

Shirt: Memo

Ha!

It's odd to be saying 'spring' when we only have two seasons here: wet and dry. Nevertheless, I think it's befitting to say 'spring' after the cold weather we've experienced several weeks ago, due to the cold front and the two typhoons that hit the Visayas and Mindanao regions. After waking up to cold, rainy and overcast days for quite some time, it's truly welcoming to finally bask the goodness of sunrise and feel the warmth of sunset. Although the country is known for its scorching heat, it's days like today, when the weather is just mild, that you just want to go out from the comforts of air conditioned rooms or go home early from work just to see and feel the warmth of the setting sun. That being said, though I'm not feeling well, I just had to pull out my phone camera and take pictures of ourselves (and to have something to post for my 'Sunday Fash Flair' post. Don't ask about the title because I'm not creative when it comes to that).

In case you miss out on anything (yes, I'm looking at all the members of the Yu clan), Josh graduated from uni last year. It took a while for him to land a job, due to a series of unfortunate events and of his school's slow processing of his records, but finally landed one in a multi-national food company. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), he had an accident. He slipped on his way out of our kitchen and his hand got caught by the door. I don't know how that happened because klutziness is supposed to be my area of expertise, not his. Since then, we're worried that he might not be able to push through with his new-found job because, as it turns out, the higher management doesn't allow employees with open wounds in and around areas where food is being handled or prepared in order to prevent contamination. Although the policy sounds reasonable, it's not going to be good for us because it would mean he'll be taking an unpaid leave from work until the wounds on his finger heal. Bummer.

Despite what happened, we're optimistic that things might turn out for our own benefit. He's even contemplating of going back to his hometown and look for one. He seemed serious about it even though we've talked about settling down here so I just gave him my full support.

Hubs: Hon, what do you think about moving to P--------n?
Me: ...... (thinking really hard if I'll be able to survive living in a provincial area) ..... Ok.
Hubs: Really?
Me: It's cheap there, right? The cost of living isn't too high?
Hubs: Yup and 'bangus' (milkfish) is really cheap there. You can eat as much fish as you can until you get tired of it.
Me: Ok. I'll just make scrambled eggs with shredded bangus, sandwich with bangus spread, bangus pasta, grilled bangus, fried bangus, crispy bangus fillet, bangus burger, buttered bangus, steamed bangus, smoked bangus, tinolang bangus, baked bangus, bangus stroganoff, sweet and sour bangus, bangus rolls, bangus cordon bleu, bangus with pancit canton, bangus pizza, bangus torta, sinigang na bangus, adobong bangus, bangus sisig, bangus paksiw, bangus siopao .....
Hubs: .... (nosebleed) ....

See? That's how supportive I am. Anyway, nothing is definite yet. Like I said, he's still contemplating on whether he'd accept the offer made to him to live and work there. For now, we'll just wait and see.
