Finally! It's good to be back online after we got disconnected for a couple of weeks. We got a new connection and this time it's for keeps (crossing fingers). It was nice to be disconnected for a while, you know. After dinner, we just go to our room to relax, talk and catch up with The Big Theory season 3 episodes (yup, we're a big fan of Sheldon) that we haven't seen yet. It was good for a while.
We planned to stay disconnected from the internet for a little while, you know, to enjoy the peace and quite. But then we missed out on a lot of emails and we missed chatting with friends and family over the internet. I, especially, missed blogging and pinning on Pinterest. And so I'm back!
As a welcome back feat, here's an outfit post for the week. I've been meaning to make a maxi skirt for a long time but I kept procrastinating. After several attempts of finding time on a week night to sew, I finally did it. I made a maxi skirt with a zipper on the back. I was going to make a tutorial for it but I was feeling lazy to take pictures of it. Plus, I needed to concentrate on the whole process because it was my first time to sew a skirt.
Surprisingly, it wasn't rocket science!
All I did was cut a piece of fabric according to the length and size of my skirt. I then sewed the zipper onto both ends, and then closed the edges by sewing them together just half way so there'll be a slit just below the knee for walking. I folded the hems and sewed them to prevent the fabric from fraying. And voila! I got myself a new maxi skirt. It took me at least three hours to make the whole skirt, but I'm sure I can make a new one faster the second time around. It's really easy-peasy!
Finishing the skirt was perfectly timed because I needed to wear a long one to church today to cover a really huge bruise on my right leg. I fell into an accident yesterday which really injured my soft tissues. We went to the doctor to have it checked because I had shooting every time I walk. Now I have a really big bump on the lower right leg, which I'm going to have it followed up again tomorrow -- doctor's orders.
Anyway, while were out at the church's courtyard for a photo sesh, I found this bush/plant/flower and liked it. I've never seen anything like this before so I don't know now what it's called. If you care to enlighten me, just leave a comment below.
