Yesterday was mom's birthday. Despite feeling sad that she's not here with use, we decided to feel positive about the whole thing. We know that she wouldn't want us to mope and sulk around. She loved parties, and if she were alive, we'd probably throw a bash for her 60th complete with great food and music. We'd probably play games with the kids, laugh and just have a fun time even though it was the Lord's sabbath.
However, because it's never going to happen in this lifetime, we just celebrated the event in the best way we could. We planned on visiting our Lolo (grandfather), Aunt and Uncle and their family over the weekend but unforeseen events happened, so we postponed the trip for a later time.
Instead, we dined out last Saturday. Dad, Aaron, Dallin and his girlfriend, and Josh went to Q Bay Restaurant down at the I.T. Park to have a quite, simple dinner. We did it a day earlier because one of my brothers had to fly to China the next day.
We surely missed mom's presence with us, but we made sure not to dwell on the past too much as the pain is still fresh on our minds. We just talked about the things that are happening in our lives as well as laughed about our funny experiences while dining at the Japanese restaurant.

My other brother and his family weren't able to make it that night, so we continued the celebration the next day, being Sunday and mom's actual birthday. We celebrated mom's birthday over roast chicken and creamy chocolate cake. We then talked and played with the kids.
I wasn't able to take pictures of the entire cake, but hopefully this delicious slice is enough to show that mom's special day was celebrated with sweetness and fond memories.

This is home-baked by my sister-in-law. Let me know if you want to order. |
Happy Birthday, Mom!
I miss you!
Till we meet again.
